Hannah and Kameron’s dreamy Alabama wedding at The Venue at Whiskey Ridge was one for the books. From their stunning engagement session in Downtown Fairhope to the heartfelt moments we captured on their wedding day, this couple’s love story was a dream to photograph. Seriously, this one will stick with me for a long, long time.
Hannah and Kameron didn’t hold back when it came to documenting their love—they went all in with my all-inclusive package, which included their engagement session, full wedding day coverage, and a custom wedding album. It’s always so rewarding to be there for the full journey, from their engagement session all the way to delivering a finished album they’ll treasure forever.
In July 2023, we met up in Downtown Fairhope, Alabama. It was my first time shooting there, and I could not believe what a perfect location it was for their photoshoot! Fairhope is a photographer’s playground. The narrow streets and alleys felt like a maze of photo opportunities—it reminded me of a quaint European village with something picture-perfect at every turn.
After wandering the downtown area, we made our way down to the bay to take pictures along the water and on the pier. When they started dating, they had taken a picture on the pier that they wanted to recreate, and we arrived at the most perfect time to capture that image for them.
I really encourage couples to get an engagement session with their wedding packages! Of course, it is a great way to celebrate this wonderful milestone in your relationship. But even more, it helps you and your photographer get to know each other better ahead of your big day and allows you both to get comfortable with having a camera around. All of that will help you feel more at ease during your wedding day.
Hannah and Kameron’s wedding day kicked off with me meeting the bride at the bridal suite. I captured some getting-ready photos before we headed out for their first look.
Their first look was one of my favorite moments of the entire day. We found the perfect spot outside, and I got creative with my drone to capture a unique perspective of the moment just before Kameron turned around to see his bride. Watching their reactions to each other was such a joy! These two are the real deal, and you could feel it in the way they looked at each other.
After their first look, Hannah and Kameron went to hide in the bridal room of the venue while the guests arrived and got in place for the ceremony. The lighting, the setting, the love in the air—it was all so perfect. The way these two locked eyes and shared their vows… wow, you could tell they were fully present in the moment.
Their couple’s portraits are some of my all-time favorite photos I’ve taken and will probably live in my portfolio forever.
The Venue at Whiskey Ridge has everything you’d want in a wedding venue. It’s intimate without feeling cramped, with plenty of open space on the grounds to keep things quiet and distraction-free. Here, you can hold a wedding day of up to 150 people. The venue also has a full kitchen and bar for the reception and a huge bridal suite—tons of room for the bridal party to get ready and relax.
“Kris is an outstanding photographer! He is very professional, talented, punctual, and has excellent communication. Kris checks off all the boxes. I’m so happy we went with him for our engagement session and wedding photos. We look forward to working with him again!”
Hannah and Kameron’s day was a perfect example of why I offer full-day coverage. Being there for every moment—from the first look to the ceremony to the last kiss—lets me tell the full story of a couple’s wedding day. And when the couple is as madly in love as these two? It’s just the best.
